Nonstop Hunting

Having a hunting tv show is a BUSINESS!  Over the last month or so, I have been hitting trade shows, working with old sponsors, trying to find new sponsors, get our Network times nailed down, finalizing our spring hunts, lining up fall hunts, lining out new shows that will air this fall…the list seems to go on and on…BUT I’m not complaining! 

Darrell and I fly up to St. Louis around the first week of March to meet up with our Field Producer, Stephen Boulware.  Stephen has been busy logging tapes from this past fall and writing scripts for interviews.  For two days we will be working on interviews for the first 4 shows.  We will get to knock out the interviews, plug them into the show, and then critique ourselves on what we like and do not like.  I look forward to this, because a lot of times this is the first time Darrell and I get to see the footage from the hunts.  We try to avoid watching the footage in the field, because we are always afraid of equipment malfunctions.

After the two days with Stephen, we will head over to Heartland Productions and check on old Bob and Larry (host of ScentBlocker’s Just Hunt & Outdoor in the Heartland).  They actually finalize our shows and we have a meeting with them to talk about a new opening for Nonstop Hunting. 

We are also looking forward to using some new music.  My Montana elk guide, Bugling Bob, is actually lead guitar player for Illusion 33 ( www.Ill33.com or www.myspace.com/Illusion33 ).  They are an awesome rock band and we are very lucky and proud to get a chance to use some of their awesome music in our show.

In the middle of all this, I am trying to sell a little real estate in this hard economic time and Darrell is drilling wells off the cost of Africa.  Needless to say, we stay busy!
