I LOVE SOUTH TEXAS!!
Darrell and I just got back from South Texas and it was an action packed 3 days! We were hunting with www.LazyRHunts.com and it was actually very relaxing. We have been bowhunting nonstop since August and just seemed very relaxing to be rifle hunting. The reason I mention this is that when we are bowhunting we are constantly worried about the weather, wind direction, moving our Ol’Man treestands (www.OlManOutdoors.com) trying to get close enough to the right buck. When we were able to take the rifles we were able to watch deer from a distance and we were not quite as worried about our movement, etc.
However saying that we ended up taking more animals with our Mathews bows (www.MathewsInc.com) than we did with our rifles. Darrell took a nice buck and coyote with his rifle and two javelinas with his Mathews. I took one management buck and one cull buck with my rifle and two hogs AND two javelinas with my Mathews…and this is all within 3 days!
We will get two solid shows out of this trip…and of course…my buck was bigger than Darrell’s. Thank you Christopher & Maria Roswell and Dean for another exciting trip south.
